Trend Alert: Clover Necklace

Sex And The City is famous for setting popular jewelry trends.  They gave us the horseshoe pendant designed by Lizzie Scheck, the large camelia ring by Joel Arthur Rosenthal (like the one Samantha got from Smith in the first movie), and of course, the ‘Carrie’ necklace, originated in Chinatown in New York .

With SATC2 opening this coming Friday, speculation has started about what the next trend could be.  I am betting my chips on the clover necklace.

A clover necklace was spotted on SJP’s décolletage last fall when the first pictures of the movie came out.  Since then, I have seen several designers with their version of the clover necklace.  My favorite picks from different price levels are below.

For die-hard SATC fans, Patricia Field has a crystal encrusted version on her website for $72.

There is also a more affordable version by her from her collaboration with Payless, however sold out online.

Still from the affordable page, Target has a cute version by $19.99 that looks demure and, well, small.

And QVC has one “designed” by Marie Osmond for $44.50.

One of my favorites is Roberto Coin‘s, which is the real thing: white gold and diamonds for $1,400.

I was also impressed by Lauren Klein’s beautiful version of it in yellow gold, on sale for $425.

In the meantime, be on the look out for more SATC2 fashion fall out, including all the Dubai-inspired looks like harem pants, gemstone colors, yellow gold and more statement necklaces.
