I was so incredulous when I read in National Jeweler that Sienna Miller is the new face at Piaget that I almost picked up the phone to call them and confirm. Almost – I trusted that National Jeweler knew what they were talking about and I seriously did not want to spend my AT&T minutes on another aggravating call. The fact that the call would be more aggravating because I knew it would not complete, thanks to AT&T love/hate relationship with me, than because of Sienna herself, should be very telling of how my priorities are defined. But I digress.
It is not that I dislike Ms. Miller, and I think she looks lovely in the campaign shots I received this morning (more specifically, Sienna is the face of Possession, one of Piaget’s most popular collections). It is just that I find that such an odd pairing. She is no stranger to controversy, and whilst I have been known to partake in my own share of controversy, it is mostly of a different kind – not the kind that involves crotch and nip shots and stealing husbands. I hear she is a kaballist now.
Piaget said in a media release that Sienna is “the ultimate woman of today and the perfect choice to embody one of Piaget’s most successful jewelry collections ever.”
Now is it just me or she looks a lot like Blake Lively in this picture? Maybe they should have gotten the real thing. Wouldn’t you love to know how much she is getting paid for this?
