Legendary Swiss watchmaker and high-end jeweler Chopard has been a long time supporter of the film industry. For the 62nd Annual Cannes Film Festival happening this week, Chopard created 62 couture jewelry pieces in honor of the 62nd anniversary of the festival.
One show-stopping piece grabbed all red carpet gasps, worn on the neck of Chopard’s Co-President and Art Director, Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele: a huge sapphire and diamond couture necklace worn to the premiere of Pixar’s “Up”. (Click on pictures to enlarge)
Another noteworthy piece was worn by model Eugenia Silva: a dazzling, bib style, diamond and pearl statement necklace. (Click on pictures to enlarge)
Chopard has been a co-sponsor of the event since 1997 when they were asked to redesign the festival’s award statue, the Palm D’Or: a 24-carat gold creation, hand cast into a wax mold and attached to a single piece of cushion-cut crystal. (Click on pictures to enlarge)
